My name is Alejandra Urteaga. I am a wife, mother, immigrant and educator. I am honored to be working at PS 11 Highbridge School and community. I am a believer that all children should have the opportunity and equity to receive a high-quality education. Let's collaborate and work together to make great things happen!

Henrietta Sirleaf

I am Ms. Sirleaf and as a lifelong educator, I believe that every day is an opportunity to learn something new, and our students can accomplish anything through perseverance, hard work, and a strong desire to make a positive impact on their society.

Daisy Joy-Rodrigo

My name is Daisy Joy-Rodrigo and I am humbled and honored to serve the Highbridge community in this role.

I believe in the brilliance that exists in the Bronx, as I was once part of this community.

It has always been a childhood dream to return to the Bronx community that welcomed my immigrant parents as they started out life in America.

I am back home in District 9!

I look forward to meeting you all, and getting to know the community that makes up P.S. 11.

Student Council

Our student council meets with the principal and school staff to share ideas to help make the school an exciting, safe and positive place for learning!

Physical Education

At PS 11x Highbridge, our students take part in physical and health education classes several times a week. We focus on teaching them about whole body wellness, emphasizing the importance of keeping both their minds and bodies healthy.

Social Studies

At PS 11x Highbridge, we use the NYC Passport Social Studies program. This program provides real hands-on experiences using primary resources. It also helps develop critical thinking skills in our students.

Science

At PS 11x Highbridge, we use the Amplify Science curriculum to engage our students in science. This curriculum includes many hands-on activities and experiments. It follows the Next Generation Science Standards, ensuring that our students are learning through a thorough and practical approach to science.

Mathematics

At PS 11x Highbridge, we use the Envision 2020 program for math. This program is designed to be friendly for students and includes strong digital tools to enhance learning. It helps students understand math concepts better and improve their problem-solving skills.

Writing

At PS 11x Highbridge, our writing program is integrated with HMH Into Reading. This program supports our students as they learn to write in three main styles: narrative, opinion, and informational. Throughout the year, students practice these styles, helping them express their thoughts clearly and creatively.
